John the Lover knows clearly that God loves him, no matter what people think about him. He knows that the love from God is unfailing and without restriction. Now that he knows how much he is loved and who is the ONE that loves him, he is free, free indeed!
In our daily walk we tend to latch onto the approval of others. This can be beneficial, but at the same time it can be hazardous. Hazardous, because we are relying on someone else to give us value. It is through love and acceptance in Jesus Christ, that we will know our place and that place can only be be obtained through HIS love.
